DM First password reset steps
Open the official DM First login screen (the Login button above opens it in a new tab).
Tap the Forgot password? link directly under the password box.
Type the +91 phone number your DM First account is registered on. Country code stays on +91.
Type your new password. Aim for 12 characters or more, mixing letters, digits and a symbol. Do not reuse a password you use elsewhere.
Retype the same password in the Confirm password box. Read carefully — a typo here locks you out again.
Tap Send. An SMS verification code arrives on the phone that owns the account within 30 seconds.
Type the code in the verification box.
Tap Reset. The screen returns you to login. Sign in with your +91 number and the new password.
Optional: after logging in, open Account and confirm the saved UPI or bank details are still intact.
What to do when the SMS code does not arrive
Wait a full 60 seconds before tapping anything. SMS routes across Indian carriers can add a small delay, especially during peak times.
Tap Send once more, not five times. Repeated taps queue duplicate messages and some carriers throttle the whole batch.
Switch networks. If you are on Wi-Fi, turn it off and try on mobile data (or the opposite). Sometimes an operator’s SMS gateway is having a bad ten minutes; the other route bypasses it.
Confirm DND settings on your number. Some transactional SMS routes get blocked by aggressive DND filters; you can lift them from your operator’s DND control (each operator has its own SMS/app for this).
Only after two clean retries reach in-app customer service through the Account tab — but that needs you to log in with an existing session on another device.
If you have no other session either, wait 15 minutes and retry from a different network. The reset flow is patient; it does not lock you out for retrying.
What DM First will NEVER ask during a password reset
For your old password. The reset flow does not need it — that is the whole point.
For the SMS code on WhatsApp, Telegram or a phone call. The code is for the app’s reset screen and nowhere else.
For your new password after the reset. Real support will never call you to verify a new password.
For a fee, an upgrade tier, or an unlock payment. The reset is free and always will be.
If any message or call asks for any of the above, it is a scam. Hang up, delete the message, and change the DM First password again.
